Ready For Black Hawks

SHAH ALAM: It appears that Rejimen 882 (Nukleus) is now operating at its new camp adjacent to the Kuantan airbase is ready to take delivery of the leased Black Hawk helicopters and operate them. Malaysian Defence reported that the PUTD unit will be taking delivery of two out of four leased Black Hawks late this year.

Rejimen 882 new facilities which include a football-pitch size hangar and some ten other buildings have been completed and the unit had moved into them. This is based on a report by BTDM on the visit of PUTD commander Brigadier General Mohd Zaki Abu to facility on May 15.

PAHANG: Pengarah Pasukan Udara Tentera Darat (PUTD), Brig Jen Mohd Zaki Abu melaksanakan Lawatan Ulung ke Tim Nukleus Rejimen 882 PUTD di Pangkalan Udara Kuantan pada 15 Mei 2023.
Sejurus memeriksa Kawalan Kuarter, Pengarah PUTD disambut oleh Penolong Pegawai Memerintah dan pegawai-pegawai Tim Nukleus Rejimen 882 PUTD di Markas Rejimen sebelum menandatangani Buku Lawatan.
Seterusnya, beliau diberi taklimat berkenaan perkara G, A dan Q oleh Penolong Pegawai Memerintah di Bilik Mesyuarat Rejimen dan kemudian melaksanakan tinjauan ke kawasan kem meliputi Aircraft Dispersal, Taxiway, hangar-hangar pesawat, pejabat-pejabat skuadron, kediaman pegawai dan anggota serta stor senjata.
Pengarah PUTD mengingatkan kepada semua warga Tim Nukleus Rejimen 882 PUTD agar sentiasa menjaga tatatertib dan disiplin serta menggunakan kemudahan kem dengan sebaiknya.
“Selain itu, semua anak kapal hendaklah meningkatkan pengetahuan berkenaan aspek penerbangan dan atur gerak pesawat,” ujarnya ketika berucap semasa jamuan tengah hari di Kafeteria Rejimen.
Pengarah PUTD turut berkesempatan melaksanakan Kunjungan Hormat kepada Komander Pangkalan Udara Kuantan sebelum diakhiri dengan minum petang bersama pegawai-pegawai Tim Nukleus Rejimen 882 PUTD.

It is likely that the leasing contract for the Black Hawks will be among the contracts signed at LIMA 2023. If this happens the first two Black Hawks will be delivered by year end while the other two in 2024.
