MOSCOW, May 24 (Bernama) — Two fighter jets Su-30 MKM were demonstrated to representatives of the Malaysian Air Force at the Irkutsk aircraft association on Thursday, Russian news agency, Itar-Tass, reported.

The Malaysian Air Force has ordered 18 planes of this series.

Russia is to export other craft in 2008.

A spokesman at Rosoboroneksport told ARMS-TASS that the first two fighter jets would be delivered to Malaysia by the transport plane An-124 Ruslan on June 17.

The jet Su-30 MKM, which is a multi-mission commercial Malaysian-commissioned plane, is the newest version of Su-30 MKI.

The corporation Irkut supplied 32 planes Su-30 MKI to India in 2002-04.

At present, the Indian aircraft corporation HAL is manufacturing these planes under Russia’s license.
