Maritime Segment of LIMA 2023

SHAH ALAM: A total of 23 ships from Malaysia is taking part in the maritime segment of LIMA 2023. The biggest contingent is of course the Royal Malaysian Navy with 18 ships.

The list of ships are as follows: KD Mahawangsa, KD Lekiu, KD Tunku Abdul Rahman, KD Perak, KD Gagah Samudera, KD Keris, KD Mahamiru, KD Todak, KD Teguh Samudera, KD Selangor, KD Sri Indera Sakti, KD Laksamana Hang Nadim, KD Terengganu, KD Lekir, KD Rencong, KD Serang, and KD Perkasa as well as the MV Mega Bakti.

Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (APMM) will be bringing its patrol vessels – KM Pekan, KM Bagan Datuk, KM Arau, KM Perwira, and KM Marlin, the Marine Department Malaysia (JLM) are bringing in its vessels the MV Polaris and MV Discovery, while the Royal Malaysia Police will be bringing its PT2 ship.

The Maritime segment of LIMA 2023 will be held at the Resorts World Langkawi (formerly known as Awana Porto Malai), some 12 km away from the Mahsuri International Exhibition Centre (MIEC) where the aerospace segment is held. The maritime segment is open to the public from May 23 to May 27 and entrance is free. MIEC is only open to the public – who need to register at LIMA 2023 – on May 26 and 27 only.

USN USS Mobile and Italian Navy Francesco Morosini at Singapore Changi naval base at Imdex 2023. Both ships are taking part in LIMA 2023. It is unlikely both will be open to the public.

Apart from open ships – the actual ones may vary from day to day – RMN and the police has also scheduled drills at the site of the Maritime segment. Demonstration of small boats with Special Forces units, will also be held at the jetty. A RMN Super Lynx will also be on static display at the site.
