SHAH ALAM: Former CO of KD Jebat – Captain Mohammed Noorsyarizal Mohammed Nordin – has been officially named as the LMS Batch 2 project leader. His appointment was made public when the Western Fleet Command published a post on September 7.

The post:

Panglima Armada Barat, Laksamana Madya Dato’ Ts. Shamsuddin bin Hj Ludin menerima Kunjungan Hormat daripada Kepten Mohammed Noorsyarizal bin Mohammed Noordin TLDM, Ketua Projek LMS Batch 2, Markas Tentera Laut.

Captain Syarizal with Western Fleet Commander Vice Admiral Shamsuddin Ludin.

Syarizal was already the LMS Batch 2 nucleus team leader when he was promoted from Commander to Captain on July 2. He was appointed as the Jebat CO on May 22 2018 as a Lt Commander before being promoted as Commander on May 31. He transferred out from Jebat on July 20 2020. Syarizal was the CO of Jebat when the ship undertook the FOST training in India in 2018.

RMN recorded him as the 19 and 20th CO of Jebat due to his appointment to the ship first as Lt Commander and then Commander.

In 2021, Syarizal was sent to United Kingdom to study in one of the defence colleges there. It is likely that Syarizal and the LMS Batch 2 team will leave for Turkiye soon as the letter of award for the quotation notice to send their belongings has been concluded.

The LOA of RM484,200 was awarded to U-Freight Sdn Bhd, as checks on Eperolehan website showed today.

Meanwhile, pictures of the Paskal contingent (above) at the Merdeka Parade showed that the SF unit is now operating the M110 Semi-Automatic Sniper Rifle (SAAS) among others. Earlier, I mentioned that the M110 rifle is likely among the sniper rifles tendered out previously. I have been told that was not the case. The M110 sniper rifles were donated by the US, likely under the maritime security initiative as in the past.
