SHAH ALAM: The RMN today took delivery of four Fast Interceptor Craft (FIC) G2000 Mark II at the Kota Kinabalu naval base at Teluk Sepanggar. The four FICs are second batch of the Mark II combat boats delivered to the RMN. The first batch was delivered on January 11, last year.
Interestingly, one of the boats pictured at the ceremony was not equipped with the Escribano Sentinel 2.0 remote weapon station as with the first four boats. Other pictures confirmed none of the four are fitted with the RWS. Perhaps, the RWS and gun will be fitted later when the formal acceptance ceremony for the FICs is held.
Or as usual – all the boats are wired for RWS – under the fitted for but not equipped concept – the RWS and gun will be rotated through the FCB fleet instead of being installed on each of them.

The release from Mindef:
Sabah, 12 Mac 2025 – Ketua Setiausaha, YBhg. Datuk Lokman Hakim Ali hari ini menyaksikan Majlis Penyerahan 4 Unit Fast Interceptor Craft (FIC) G2000 MKII Fasa Kedua di Pangkalan TLDM Kota Kinabalu, Teluk Sepanggar.
Majlis menandatangani Sijil Penyerahan ini disempurnakan oleh Dato’ Ir. Jamalolail bin Mohd Yatim, Pengarah Urusan Gading Marine Industry, dan Puan Hazlin binti Selamat, Timbalan Setiausaha Bahagian Perolehan (B), Kementerian Pertahanan.
FIC G2000 MKII dibuat dan dibekalkan oleh Gading Marine Industry (M) Sdn. Bhd.
The post on the delivery of the first batch:
As Gading Marine Industry Sdn Bhd is supplying 13 Mark II FICs, it appears that it will also supply each boat with 13 RWS fitted with one 12.7mm machine gun and two SS-77 as well, a total of 26 as the secondary weapon, if go by the four already delivered then. It is interesting note that the six FIC also supplied by Gading for Op Benteng, are not equipped with secondary weapons even though gun mounts are also provided on them. The thirteen Mark II FICs contract is RM120 million as reported here while the six for Op Benteng cost RM80 million.

Haaiiyoo..I thought TLDM is done with small patrol boats? They prefer bigger boats 80 mtrs and above.
It seems as long as money to be made small boats or tongkang semua BOLE…
out of topic but what happens to the hmav n hmltv contract ? and also the eva sph ?
KIV
@RedSot
Still useful for TLDM harbour patrols.
Red Sot-“Haaiiyoo..I thought TLDM is done with small patrol boats?”
“Haiiyoo…” The FICs are not for open seas use. For SF work, coastal patrols, etc. Look up the various things the CB-90s have been doing since entering service
@joe in this millenium era, combat patrol, peacetime patrol are all done by drones be it in the military harbour civilian harbour, land border/sea border, this is to cut down on man power. These drone operator are a breed of its own,but attached out to any point of intrest as mentioned above. I hope ATM will have a breed of thinktank who thinks in that directions. Why waste resources on training on a crew of 5 when you only need a crew of 2 ( WSO/pilot )to man a drone. Why must we waste skilled manpower from vocational school and poly who not only can maintained the drone because of their skills but running them. The top brass have to think along that directions. Specialist/expert ranks need to be created to lure young men/women into military career, which is now dwindling in manpower I did not know armchair 6star got sense of humour…lol..
Red Sot – “in this millenium era, combat patrol, peacetime patrol are all done by drones be it in the military harbour civilian harbour, land border/sea border”
We have not reached the stage where UASs fir the surveillance role totally does away with the need for manned assets, both working in a complementary manner. This reminds me of Dr Kua who in wisdom asked why the RMAF needed fighters when UASs could do the job.
Red Sot – “Why waste resources on training on a crew of 5 when you only need a crew of 2 ( WSO/pilot )to man”
It’s a total misconception and misreading of the situation to fall under the impression that drones enable manpower savings. They need to be operated, maintained and transported; plus they need a C3 set up which is manned by humans not robots. If anything the Russians and Ukrainians have discovered that UASs units actually lead to an increase in manpower in the units they are organic to.
P.S. UASs may be cheaper than manned assets but they don’t operate in a vacuum. They need a trainibg/support infrastructure and they cost money to fly and maintain. They also require spares. It’s also generally accepted that UASs don’t have life span comparable to manned assets.
Lastly, a point to remember is despite the wide coverage and the things they bring to the table at an affordable cost, as of 2025 UASs have not replaced anything. Not fighters, helicopters, artillery, etc.
@kem no doubt according to marhalim the sph eva & other items are put on hold, but frankly speaking lets hope ATM get the 6×6 EVA sph.It looks like a promising design,no doubt its not a proven piece itself.
Technical out look is its a auto loading sph, which uses less manpower, rounds can be selected, not only that in the near future it can fire gps guided rounds, this is i read in some magazine.
Red Sot – “Technical out look is its a auto loading sph”
Good and bad. It has a magazine containing 20 rounds and when that magazine is empty it has to be reloaded. Takes time and during that time the howitzer is not able to be used. Sane issue with other auto systems.
Red Sot – “no doubt its not a proven piece itself”
Yes but what artillery system which when used in combat for the 1st time performed less than expected. Then there is also the “proven” in what conditions. The Panzerhaubitze 2000 when used in Afghanistan had no issues as it did not fire large numbers of rounds over a prolonged period. In Ukraine heavy usage led to various issues with it; not only the barrel.
Redsoft “I hope ATM will have a breed of thinktank who thinks in that directions”
More manpower mean more political clout as each staff along with their families are in itself voters
Secondly we aren’t in a declining demographic and as such aren’t exactly short of manpower. If we have a shortage it would be in the technical profession as we lack them even in our factories.
Third we are not a develop country but rather a developing one. Thus R&D isn’t our forte not to mention we are in the mist of rearming ourselves and thus why we are quite traditional in thinking and take the lease risky path available. Which is probably why TDM are obsessed over ceaser.
