SHAH ALAM: Even though the Defence Ministry and the Armed Forces are silent about the imminent change in the top leadership, thanks to the Singapore Defence Ministry, it is now confirmed that the current CDF TS Gen Mohammad Ab Rahman is retiring.

As customary, Mohammad,61, today, made a farewell visit to the republic, where he was greeted by the Singapore Defence Minister Dr Ng Eng Heng. The social media post on the farewell visit.

While the Defence Ministry and MAF might deemed as an appreciation visit, the Singapore Mindef call it as it is a farewell visit. It is not a breach of protocol as it was the main purpose of the visit. This is because we follow the tradition of the British military of making farewell visit prior to the retirement.

So, who will take over as the 23rd PAT/CDF then? I have been told by credible sources of the successor. Unfortunately, unlike the mainstream media, I cannot afford to breach the protocol. Do not fret though, in ten days, the new top soldier will be named. If it was the usual suspect, it would be easier, I must admit.

The release from Singapore Mindef.

Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) Chief of Defence Forces General (GEN) Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Mohammad bin Ab Rahman called on Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen at the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) this morning. During their meeting, Dr Ng thanked GEN Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Mohammad for his contributions in furthering bilateral cooperation and deepening people-to-people ties between the Singapore Armed Forces and the MAF.

GEN Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Mohammad, who is in Singapore from 20 to 21 January 2025 for his farewell visit, also called on Chief of Defence Force Vice Admiral Aaron Beng after inspecting the Guard of Honour at MINDEF.

GEN Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Mohammad’s visit underscores the warm and long-standing bilateral defence relationship between Singapore and Malaysia. Both countries’ armed forces interact regularly across a wide range of activities, including bilateral and multilateral exercises, visits and professional exchanges, cross-attendance of courses, as well as through multilateral platforms like the Five Power Defence Arrangements, the ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting (ADMM), and ADMM-Plus. Such interactions have strengthened mutual understanding and professional ties between the personnel of both armed forces.

  1. I guess the left of the left field is probably MMEA chief taking over as new PAT haha(joe)
Nice one there hahaha! Or perhaps the RELA chief! Hahaha!

  2. Another changes would be for Panglima Medan Barat TD as the incumbent will move to Midas as its new head.

  3. “Or perhaps the RELA chief! Hahaha!”
I doubt he wants to move even if ordered to. Their making tons of money from jamuans & kenduris.

  4. If that is the case then MiDAS should come out with papers that is cili padi hot that can say all the things that those in ATM cannot publicly say or confirm. They should have many things to say about Gowind, Gempita or even the leasing deals…

  5. Cold storage also meant slow easy life just before full retirement. So they cannot jeorpardise their pencen with the uncomfortable truth. Also if nobody gonna read it whats the point.

Also mind you just coz kena cold storage doesnt mean there is no way back, ie 20th PAT. So they arent gonna burn their bridge because anything can happen.
