I have a question in mind. I read April Kanwa Defence state the reason why Boustead not continue Meko 100 concept it due to some share or agreement issue btw TKMS, so they they choose Gowind. Is this true?

Mean in future we also not able produce more Meko 100 / Kedah class we have now?
If true, our Kedah Class investment consider total failure?

Boustead has the IP rights to the Meko A100, they don’t need TKMS to build more of them, if they find a customer!

No matter. It was reported that the British had ome up with a global combat ship design which is up to 5,000 tons capacity and Malaysia is one country reported to be a target for the new design. The British will purchase at least 20 ships from this new design and it is targeted for a service etry in 2020 and beyond.Both the gowind and the Meko would be old design as the new global combat ship will be stealthy in design.

Maritim Malaysia don’t have the funds to buy such a large ship, they cannot even afford a 50 metre boat!

Hmm everyone is buying new. The Indonesians are buying the Super Tucano to replace their OV-0 andalso buying Mavericks for their F16′s. I wonder if our RMAF has the Mavericks too? India is also buying plenty of Apaches and the dealis due to be inked soon.The Indian eal is reported to have been ompetitively fought between the Apachee and the Mi-28.

From memory I recalled that we had purchased Mavericks in the past. No idea how many remained live

According to SIPRI, 30 Mavericks were received for the Hornets in 1997 and some are still likely in the inventory. However, they are not much to brag about considering that they are Vietnam-era tech. The only other ASMs in the inventory are some Harpoons, Paveways and Kh-31s (AS-17 Krypton). Pretty pathetic when every other modern air force in the world has equipped itself with JDAMs, JSOWs, HARMs, JASSMs, SDBs, GBU-28s, Brimstones, Storm Shadows, etc.

Maverick may have been designed in the 70′s, like the Paveway, but is very still useful to have. We have the IR version, which offers a huge leap in capability over early generation Mavericks – photos of which first appeared in Tempur or Perajurit 4-5 years back. The Flankers also have the T.V guided KAB500KR – training rounds were displayed at the Subang Open Day in 2007. The TNI-AU has been operating Mavericks since the mid-1990′s, fitted to its Hawks and F-16s. The RTAF has Paveway, which it used during its border clash with Myanmar 10 years ago but I’m not sure if they have Maverick. What I find curious is that the Russians don’t appear to have an equivalent of Maverick, so what would they use for BAI or CAS?

The Russian has the KH-29s which was also displayed during the same RMAF open day as it is deployed by our Flankers

Not sure about the KH-29 but we do have the supersonic Kh-31P which is the anti-radar/radiation version. I can’t find the link anymore but a few months ago I posted the ‘Notice To Mariner’s that was issued for the missile firings last year.
